Does Texas Debt Relief Provide Emergency Debt Relief?

From my research, Texas Debt Relief does not provide any government sponsored emergency debt relief, but it can help in time of an emergency.

It is a leading provider for other debt settlement companies. So, unlike dealing directly with a debt settlement company, you cannot deal directly with Texas Debt Relief. Instead, it recommends a debt settlement company you can sign up with and deal with.

How Much it May Cost to Get Rid of Debt Through Texas Debt Relief

There are numerous debt relief options, including debt settlement. At Ascend, we believe all debt relief options are good, but the best one for you depends on your need. To help debtors understand their options and how much they will cost, we built a debt relief cost calculator that compares the cost of different debt relief options.

When it comes to debt settlement, the FTC has rules which ban debt settlement companies from asking for fees upfront. The rule helps protect debtors from losing money from fraudulent debt settlement firms. However, attorney-based debt settlement companies are exempted from this rule. They are allowed to ask for money upfront, while the other companies have to wait until a successful negotiation to get their fees.

How Much Will it Cost at Texas Debt Relief Org?

Since Texas Debt Relief doesn’t offer debt settlement services directly but recommends other debt settlement companies, we can estimate their costs based on the settlement companies they recommend.

At Ascend, we believe that debt settlement may be a good option, but it’s only in the context of understanding all of your options and understanding the cost of that option. This is exactly why we built a free debt relief cost comparison calculator so that you are MOST informed.

The organization mainly recommends ClearOne Advantage. So, understanding their fees can help us better understand the costs ofTexas Debt Relief. ClearOne Advantage FAQ specifies that the company accepts payment after successful negotiation. Unfortunately, it doesn’t explain how much.

But, at the bottom of the page, they have outlined an estimated fee of 20% for enrolled debt. However, the fee is usually 25%. When using our calculator, you will get an estimate for the debt settlement companies we work with, charging an average of 15%, the highest being 17%. Our recommended debt settlement companies are cheaper than 25% and could help you save a lot, which you will need to restart your financial life.

Filing for Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy is a government program that helps people in debt get a fresh financial start by creating a flexible repayment plan or liquidating their assets to pay off their debt. Since the government backs bankruptcy, there are bankruptcy laws that forbid creditors from pursuing debtors who have filed for bankruptcy. There is also a law that mandates creditors to accept orders from bankruptcy courts. So, if your bankruptcy case is successful and the court forgives part of your debt, the creditors will have to accept it.

For example, if you file for bankruptcy to get rid of a credit card of $200,000 and demonstrate your inability to make monthly payments, the court can issue a discharge for your debt to free you from debt. In this case, the creditor must accept the court’s decision and no longer pursue you for the debt.

Depending on your financial state, you can file for chapter 7 or chapter 13 bankruptcy. In Chapter 7, your assets may be sold to repay your unsecured debtors. Thus, it is called liquidation bankruptcy.

Alternatively, you can choose to file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy if you have little income. Through Chapter 13 bankruptcy, you can restructure a new debt repayment plan that suits your income, and you can pay less debt than you originally owe.
