How the Site Works: Ascend's mission is to take the pain out of personal finance for everyone. Not everyone who comes to our site is currently best fit for the Ascend product, so we spend a great deal of time and effort finding partners that we hope will be beneficial to you.
How We Make Money: Our partners sometimes compensate us in the way of advertising. Some partners we recommend pay us referral fees for sending them new customers. If you click through an application link on our site and end up receiving the service, we may receive compensation when your application is approved, and you move forward with this product. Each partner is vetted based on the following criteria:
We prioritize lower interest rate providers.
We prioritize those who do not penalize checking your rate or have prepayment penalties.
We prioritize those that are customer experience focused. We measure this by the reviews on more unbiased review sites.
Clear Path Debt Solutions: What Do the Reviews Say?
This article is for informational purposes only and should not be construed as legal or financial advice.
Have you come across this Clear Path Debt Solutions social media ad below and wondered what people are saying in their reviews?
The video opens by saying "Debt Settlement ruins your credit," and poses the question "What if there's a smarter way to make your debt disappear?" It then goes on to claim that "We make sure your debts disappear, restore your credit, and protect you from creditors with ironclad legal representation. Think debt relief has to damage your future? Our clients see improved credit and zero harassment while savings thousands." All very bold promises.
First Impressions
I would be skeptical to work with a company that is criticizing debt settlement, when ultimately they seem to be pitching debt settlement themselves. But let's dive into this a bit further!
Let's Check Out Their Website
To start, they ask how much credit card debt you need help with.
Then they ask for your first and last name.
Next your email address.
And finally, your phone number along with a message to consent to receiving communication with them via SMS, alerts, and occasional marketing.
You're then taken to a page with a video (that I could not get to play on mobile), along with buttons that allow you to either give them a call or schedule a call. (Please note: 'schedule' is spelled wrong.)
Less than $10k in Debt
Please note: If you select that you have $0-$10,000 in debt in the beginning of the survey, you are given a thank you message with no clear next steps. I guess that's just where it ends? Not exactly a clear path.
What is Clear Path Debt Solutions Promising?
While I couldn't get the video to work on my phone, I was able to watch it on my computer. I'll include the main talking points below.
This video claims that Clear Path Debt Solutions will do four things:
The first: save you money. How? "By eliminating the need for escrow accounts and focusing on resolving your debts."
The second: they'll restore your credit by "making them disappear as if they never existed, or they or they get marked as ‘Paid in Full'."
The third: they'll provide "ironclad protection from collection calls. With top consumer rights attorneys by your side, collection calls become a thing of the past. If they call you, it’s a violation of your rights, and we take action immediately."
The fourth (and final): they will "eliminate errors on your credit report since 80% or 4/5 credit reports contain inaccuracies". He claims they'll find any mistakes in your credit report, send any necessary legal letters, and then help you get out of these accounts, "completely legally."
He then encourages the viewer give them a call for a free, no risk consultation, but warns that spots are limited. Spots for what exactly, though?
Clear Path Debt Solutions Reviews
I can't find any reviews or testimonials regarding Clear Path Debt Solutions on Google, they don't even have any on their website.
I headed over to their Facebook page to see if they had any comments regarding their services, but they haven't made any posts at all. Note in the description that it says that their trusted debt relief partners have helped over 20,000 families. Who are these partners?
What Other Options Do You Have?
Feel free to take our free debt consolidation loan calculator below if you're looking for a debt consolidation loan! (No personal information is required unless you want to provide it.)
You'll find three different debt consolidation loan options using this calculator, it will even provide an estimated cost for alternative debt consolidation methods, like non-profit credit counseling (which helps lower interest rates through an agency).
What is Non-Profit Credit Counseling?
Non-profit counseling is a free or low-cost option where you're paired with a credit counselor to help you understand your debt and create a plan to help you lower your payments and interest rates. (This is one of the options mentioned in the calculator above as well.) Non-profit credit counseling can be especially helpful if you don't qualify for a debt consolidation loan.

Closing Thoughts
From what I can find, Clear Path Debt Solutions does not seem to have any credible reviews or testimonials. I also cannot find if they're associated with another company. They sell a big promise, but it's hard to say if they are able to keep their word and follow through.
