How the Site Works: Ascend's mission is to take the pain out of personal finance for everyone. Not everyone who comes to our site is currently best fit for the Ascend product, so we spend a great deal of time and effort finding partners that we hope will be beneficial to you.

How We Make Money: Our partners sometimes compensate us in the way of advertising. Some partners we recommend pay us referral fees for sending them new customers. If you click through an application link on our site and end up receiving the service, we may receive compensation when your application is approved, and you move forward with this product. Each partner is vetted based on the following criteria:

  1. We prioritize lower interest rate providers.
  2. We prioritize those who do not penalize checking your rate or have prepayment penalties.
  3. We prioritize those that are customer experience focused. We measure this by the reviews on more unbiased review sites.

One Capital Solutions Reviews: 5 Things You Need To Know

This article is for informational purposes only and should not be construed as legal or financial advice.

Have you heard of One Capital Solutions and wanted to know the reviews and whether people get loans? Have you considered working with them to get a loan to consolidate your debt? What do their reviews say? In this article, we'll cover what exactly Capital One Solutions offers, along with recent reviews from their clients.

What Does One Capital Solutions Offer?

To be honest, I couldn't find a ton of information about them on their own website, it's pretty bare bones. But at the very least, it looks like they specialize in finding low interest and low payment loans.

These loans could then be used to refinance a car, pay off credit cards, and consolidate debt.

To quote their LinkedIn page: "At One Capital Solutions, we specialize in finding the right loans for everyday people. Whether you're looking to consolidate debt, manage unexpected expenses, or need a financial boost, our team is committed to finding the most favorable terms and rates tailored to your unique circumstances."

How Do You Get Started With One Capital Solutions?

To inquire about a loan, simply scroll down their homepage until you come across this short questionnaire that asks for a reservation code (if applicable), your name, email, phone number, and agent name (if applicable).

They'll then send you an email that takes you to yet another form that asks for additional details such as your birthday, social security number, address, annual income, and desired loan amount.

When Was One Capital Solutions Founded?

Based on Better Business Bureau and LinkedIn, One Capital Solutions was founded in 2023, so they're a relatively new company.

One Capital Solutions Reviews

Better Business Bureau

On Better Business Bureau, they have a 3.96 rating out of 5-stars with 26 reviews. But what experience have their clients had based on these reviews?
Right off the bat, the most recent reviews both mention that they've had difficulties getting in touch with the company, and feel it is a "scam".

In this review, the reviewer advises caution when considering One Capital Solutions, stating they found little information on the company and conducted their own independent research. They highlight that One Capital Solutions is not registered with major debt resolution associations, but is only affiliated with an organization (whose name is redacted) that has questionable credibility. While they acknowledge the company could be legitimate, they remain skeptical due to its newness, lack of accreditation, and absence of an established reputation. But they ultimately encourage others to research and decide for themselves.

Google

On Google, they currently hold a 3.9 rating out of 5-stars with 38 reviews. Let's take a closer look.

They do have some positive reviews, however, you'll notice that most of them are from clients that are happy with their customer service experience - not the actual service that One Capital Solutions is providing. But what about those that have actually gotten farther along in the program?

Another reviewer shared hesitation and skepticism about continuing to stay in the program due to the amount of fees and charges that went toward One Capital Solutions, that could have just gone to their credit cards instead.

This reviewer initially had an especially poor experience, citing a lack of updates, no visible progress for three months, and a significant drop in their credit score. After posting their initial review, they were contacted by a representative, who provided reassurance and a detailed update, which temporarily alleviated their concerns. However, things soon returned to the previous state, with little progress being made. Ultimately, after nine months, the reviewer canceled their service when one of their accounts went into collections. They claim that only one account was settled, and poorly so, while they personally negotiated better settlements with other creditors. They strongly advise against using One Capital Solutions, stating that the company delays action until accounts become delinquent, causing unnecessary damage to credit scores. This sounds like he went through a debt settlement program, (more on that below).

TrustPilot

I could not find any reviews for One Capital Solutions on TrustPilot. Given the company's recent establishment, this absence is understandable.

What Exactly is Debt Settlement?

Debt settlement is a process where a third party negotiates with your creditors to reduce the total debt amount you owe. The goal is to lower your debt - for example, reducing a $20,000 balance to $10,000 - to help provide financial relief.

To start, you'll be advised by the debt settlement company to stop making payments to your creditors immediately. Instead of paying your creditors directly, you would set up a separate savings account, and make monthly deposits into it. The amount you contribute each month would depend on the total debt amount you owe, along with the agreement you establish with the debt settlement company.

Your accounts will become delinquent as you stop making payments to your creditors, leading to late fees and additional interest charges. Once you fall significantly behind, creditors may be more open to negotiating a reduced payoff amount - especially if they believe you might be considering bankruptcy, which could ultimately result in them receiving nothing.

The debt settlement company will then negotiate with your creditors on your behalf. Once they reach an agreement on a reduced balance, and you approve the settlement, you’ll make the agreed-upon payment to resolve the debt.

How Do Debt Settlement Companies Earn Money?

Debt settlement companies earn their money by charging their clients a percentage of the debt they successfully reduce - otherwise known as a fee. Let's say you owe a creditor $20,000 and the company negotiates it down to $10,000 - technically that means you would save $10,000. However, the debt settlement company will typically charge a fee ranging from 10% to 25% of that forgiven amount. This means you could owe them between $1,000 and $2,500 in addition to the $10,000 you still need to pay your creditor. While you would still save at least $7,500-$9,000 overall, the fees reduce the total savings you receive.

What Are Your Other Loan Options?

You're welcome to take our free debt consolidation loan calculator below, if you're looking for a debt consolidation loan! (No personal information is required, unless you want to provide it.)

You'll find three different debt consolidation loan options using this calculator, it will even provide an estimated cost for alternative debt consolidation methods, like non-profit credit counseling (which helps lower interest rates through an agency).

What About Non-Profit Counseling?

Non-profit counseling is a free or low-cost option where you're paired with a credit counselor to help you understand your debt and create a plan to help you lower your payments and interest rates. (This is one of the options mentioned in the calculator above as well.) Non-profit credit counseling can be especially helpful if you don't qualify for a debt consolidation loan.
