What I Found

I recently came across a few ads on social media that are framed as a former employee of a major credit card company "exposing" a way for people to lower their monthly credit card payment by up to 40%, as long as you have over $20,000 in credit card debt.

Let's Check Out Their Website

The website itself that this ad links to is called GuideToConsolidation.org, you can find it here

To start, you'll be asked a series of questions regarding the type of debt you have, how much debt you have, and your financial goals.

Less Than $5k in Debt

If less than $5,000 in credit card debt is selected, you'll be redirected to this page that is hosted by my411.com that leads to a few different websites.

Between $5k-$15k in Debt

In some cases, depending on what you select and if you have between $5,000-$15,000 in credit card debt, you'll be matched with Consolidated Credit for a debt management plan.

In other cases, Guide To Consolidation will suggest that you're a good candidate for a debt consolidation loan and that they'll quickly match you with someone in their network of lenders, based on your specific profile.

After clicking 'Continue', you'll be redirected to a webpage hosted by moneylion.com to answer additional questions. But if you click on 'Verge leads', you will be redirected to ClearOneAdvantage.com.

Over $16k in Debt

If you have over $16,000 in credit card debt, you'll be told you qualify for savings and will be asked to provide your name, phone number, address, and email.

The screen will load as they prepare your estimate.

Eventually, your results will generate and you will be pointed in the direction of ClearOne Advantage

What is ClearOne Advantage?

ClearOne Advantage is one of the leading debt relief companies in the United States, specializing in debt settlement. This process involves negotiating with creditors to reduce the total amount owed after accounts become past due.

However, a user on Reddit seems to be skeptical. Another experience can be found here.

Your Other Options

If you're looking for a debt consolidation loan, feel free to take the free debt consolidation loan calculator below.

This calculator will show 3 different debt consolidation loans and also provide a cost estimate for other debt consolidation options, such as non-profit credit counseling, where an agency will reduce your interest rates.

Non-Profit Credit Counseling

One option the calculator above provides is non-profit credit counseling, which individuals sometimes pursue if that can't qualify for a loan.

Here's a video explaining that option:
