If you have recently been researching “debt relief companies,” you may have come across Signature Servicing.

If you’re trying to figure out which is which, you’ve come to the right place! We have dozens of reviews of some of the best (and worst) debt relief companies in the nation. This article is specifically looking at Signature Servicing, and whether or not they are worth working with.

1. What Is Signature Servicing?

According to its BBB page, Signature Servicing provides debt consolidation services. Often, debt consolidation programs is another term for debt relief. With debt relief, a company claims to help settle debts for individuals. According to their website, Signature Servicing is “one of the country’s most ethical debt settlement companies.” While we can’t find any research or studies to back this up, we assume they are just making the assertion that they can be trusted. Signature Servicing’s BBB page claims that they have been in business for over 8 years.

I was the previous CEO of a debt relief company, and I believe debt settlement can be a good option for some, but not for others.

So, debt settlement may be a great option for you, but it’s helpful to understand each of your options.

As such, if you are struggling with debt and wondering what to do next, we built a free, unbiased debt options comparison calculator (not even an email address is required) that provides a wide range of debt options that may be able to fit your budget. The data is personalized to your income and expenses, so you can get accurate costs, pros and cons, and options. Debt settlement may be a great option for you, but it’s helpful to understand each of your options.

2. How Much Does It Cost To Work With Them?

At Ascend, we believe that debt settlement may be a good option, but it’s only in the context of understanding all of your options and understanding the cost of that option. This is exactly why we built a free debt relief cost comparison calculator so that you are MOST informed. While the calculator below will not show what Citizen's exact cost will be, it can provide an estimate for debt relief based on your financial situation

Regardless of what company you work with, you should expect to pay somewhere between 18-25% of the total amount of debt that you enroll. This fee can change based on a variety of factors. Where you live, how much debt you have, what your credit score is, and how old you are can all affect how much you are charged for their services.

Based on the reviews that we read, we can attest to the fact that Signature Servicing does not have a “one-size-fits-all” pricing model. One client claimed that they were charged closer to 16% while another client claimed they were charged closer to 25%. This wide variety of charges means it can be difficult to guess what your situation will cost. The best way to figure out what you might be charged is by calling the company and asking them directly. But is it even worth giving them a call? Let’s take a look at the reviews to see if they are worth working with.

3. What Debt Relief Services Does Signature Servicing Offer?

From what is seen on their website, it appears that Signature Servicing only offers debt settlement. Debt settlement is a process in which you negotiate a lower total debt amount with your creditor. So if you have a $10,000 debt that you owe, you could negotiate the total cost down to $5,000, meaning you could pay your debt off faster.

When working with a debt relief company, the company negotiates on your behalf instead of you negotiating directly with the creditor. While this might sound nice, when you work with a company, you will also have to pay them for their services. How much might it cost? Let’s take a look.

4. What Do The Reviews Say?

Unfortunately, there are not a ton of reviews that can be found online. The BBB page has just over 60 reviews. However, other than that, there aren’t a lot of reviews that can be found online. Trust Pilot, one of the most popular review platforms, doesn’t have a page for Signature Servicing. And, surprisingly, even Google doesn’t have a ton of reviews. When you look up the company name, only four reviews pop up, and two of the reviews are obviously not for Signature Servicing. All that to say, there isn’t a large review fingerprint for Signature Servicing. If having the security of a large number of reviews (good or bad) is important to you, then this company may not be right for you. With that in mind, let's take a look at the reviews left on the BBB page.

For the most part, the BBB reviews are very positive. In fact, Signature Sevicing has a 4.72 out of 5-star average rating. While they are not BBB accredited, they do have an A+ rating. When going through the ratings, it's obvious that the majority of reviewers actually went through the debt settlement process with the company. This is good to keep in mind because it means that the customer is reviewing the entire process instead of just the initial sales call. However, in these reviews, customers recount fully paying off their settled amounts.

While the reviews from the BBB are mostly good, it still does not take away from the fact that reviews cannot be found on other major review platforms. This might be a red flag, but it could also just be that they do not push their customers to leave reviews for them. Again, you can make your own judgment on this issue.

In summary

So should you work with Signature Servicing? Unfortunately, that is a decision that you will have to make on your own. But, hopefully, this information was helpful in informing your decision!
