Oakstone Law Reviews: What Is Happening?

6/6/2023 Update: We corresponded with an individual who stated that they received the following text message, "Hello, I am an ex LPG employee. I saw your number on the comment section of an article about LPG. LPG sold your account to Phoenix law. Phoenix Law is actually same as LPG, same head attorney and owner. The attorney is barred from practicing. Phoenix Law is a Trojan horse company stealing people's hard earned money. I found out all this after I was fired from LPG and they filed BK. LPG and Phoenix Law and Oakstone law are all going through an investigation as we speak. Call Phoenix law 424-622-4044 and demand to speak to Ty Carrs and demand your money back. These are not good people. Their office is being investigated by the BK trustee. It's on the news. They scam elderly as a form of debt resolution. It's all BS. Send me a confirmation that you got this but please don't expect a reply. My job is to spread the news because yall deserve it to know. God bless and good luck."

5/4/2023 Update: Please note that we found that Marich Bein LLC filed a lawsuit against both Litigation Practice Group, PC and Oakstone Law Group PC under case #8:23-cv-00339 alleging that both Oakstone and LPG are both under the direction of disbarred lawyer, Tony Diab as an attempt to avoid LPG's contractual relationship with the plaintiff.

5/3/2023 Update: One reader mentioned that she heard from Oakstone that it’s payment processor relationship had been terminated, so your draft will show as PhxLaw. This may be due to the double charge people faced last month. If you are currently in the program, please consider calling me at 833-272-3631 for up to date information.

Did you receive an email or a message from Oakstone Law Group that they are now going to be handling your Litigation Practice Group account? Did you get charged by Guardian Processing and/or TouziCapitalLLC and wonder what company did this?

What happened to the Litigation Practice Group? What is Oakstone Law Group? What are the reviews/BBB?

The purpose of this article is to answer your most pressing questions.

Litigation Practice Group Filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

On 3/23/2023, Litigation Practice Group filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in California, which may bring you to the next question of whether you can get a refund from LPG.

Can I Get A Refund From Litigation Practice Group?

We speak with many individuals who want to know how to get a refund from LPG. Unfortunately, it may be more difficult to get a refund now that the LPG filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

With a Chapter 11 bankruptcy, you may have to file a Proof of Claim which says that you are a creditor that is owed money from the bankruptcy filing. If you want to file a proof of claim, you may have to look at the docket to see how the specific claim needs to be filed. For example, sometimes the creditor files a claim through the court's system or mails in a claim.  Other times the plan will specify that the Debtor is going to hire a separate company that handles the claims.

If you have any questions about this, I’d be happy to provide what information I have, so please text or call me at 833-272-3631.

What is Oakstone Law Group?

According to Bizapedia, Oakstone Law Group PC was formed with a filing date of January 9. 2023 with a mailing address of 888 Prospect Street Ste 200, La Jolla, CA 92037. The Oakstone filing date is the same date that Naz II Holding, LLC filed a lawsuit against Litigation Practice Group

Image shows that lawsuit against Litigation Practice Group was the same day as Oakstone was formed in California.

It appears that there are at least 3 companies handling old Litigation Practice Group clients, including Phoenix Law and Gallant Law, and Oakstone may have the most recent website.

Using Wayback machine (which shows company website updates), the first image of Oakstone Law Group was March 2023.

What Do You Pay for With Oakstone?

It appears that Oakstone Law is using Guardian Processing to process payments for the entity.

One question is whether you will receive the same service with Oakstone as if you were with Litigation Practice Group.

Litigation Practice Group appeared to utilize a combination of debt dispute or debt validation services where it will send mailers to your creditors every few months once the accounts are behind. In addition, Litigation Practice may have taken a fee and then let the accounts go past the debt statute of limitations where those debts may not be sued on.

There are three challenges with this approach if Oakstone follows the same process:

  1. How is this service any different from what you could do for yourself by disputing the debt with the creditors and letting it go behind?
  2. What happens when the debt collectors sue you
  3. Sending out blanket dispute / validation letters for all your debt when you owe the debt may not actually work.

Oakstone Law Reviews

As Oakstone was just formed in January, 2023, it was very difficult to find reviews of individual’s experience with the company. That said, I was able to find a BBB page.

BBB

Unfortunately, there was very little information on the Oakstone BBB page as it appears it’s a relatively new page.

Google

From my research, I could not find any Google reviews on Oakstone Law Group.

How To Cancel Oakstone Law And Your Options

Here are 3 things to consider:

  1. If you’d like to cancel, you can contact Oakstone Law 858-330-3009 or email them support@oakstonepc.com. Please note that it may take a while to cancel as you may have to be transferred to a department that doesn’t take direct calls. So, you may consider contacting your bank to see what would happen if Oakstone Law attempts to pull the payment after you initiated the cancellation?
  2. If you wish to continue Oakstone Law Group, you may want to fully understand what service you are paying for.
  3. If you’d like up to date information about what we know or have questions, please fill out the form below. I can help you understand how to deal with the debt as well by going through all your options.
