How the Site Works: Ascend's mission is to take the pain out of personal finance for everyone. Not everyone who comes to our site is currently best fit for the Ascend product, so we spend a great deal of time and effort finding partners that we hope will be beneficial to you.

How We Make Money: Our partners sometimes compensate us in the way of advertising. Some partners we recommend pay us referral fees for sending them new customers. If you click through an application link on our site and end up receiving the service, we may receive compensation when your application is approved, and you move forward with this product. Each partner is vetted based on the following criteria:

  1. We prioritize lower interest rate providers.
  2. We prioritize those who do not penalize checking your rate or have prepayment penalties.
  3. We prioritize those that are customer experience focused. We measure this by the reviews on more unbiased review sites.

Have you called Clear Creek Legal's phone number at 866-229-0984, but got stuck on a long hold? Did you end up not reaching anyone?

I called Clear Creek Legal and was on hold for around 3-4 minutes. I was informed I was spot number 46 in line and decided I did not want to wait to speak with someone. We are interested to learn more about your experience and share what we know at at 833-272-3631 as we are learning more from talking to many people.

My call with Clear Creek Legal

I have been reading a lot about the CFPB lawsuit involving Clear Creek Legal and noticed Level One Law was also associated with it. We were able to reach the Level One Law phone number only after waiting 5 minutes.

When speaking with Level One Law, they stated that the CFPB lawsuit was resolved and the issue was identifying what kind of company they are. Once they verified that they are a debt consolidation company NOT a debt collector, they were fine to continue business.

I stated that I had read the entire CFPB lawsuit, and there was nothing in the lawsuit that stated that Level One Law was a debt collector. He stated that it was just what the company said to tell people.

Cancellation process

Clear Clear Creek Legal may have the same process as Level One Law. The Level One Law representative stated that he had the right to can cancel people on the phone by just calling Level One Law directly.

He stated that funds that needed to be refunded from escrow account would be refunded, but he didn't give further details.

I have to think that the same procedure is in place for Clear Creek Legal, but because I was spot number 46 in line, I was unable to confirm this.
