How the Site Works: Ascend's mission is to take the pain out of personal finance for everyone. Not everyone who comes to our site is currently best fit for the Ascend product, so we spend a great deal of time and effort finding partners that we hope will be beneficial to you.

How We Make Money: Our partners sometimes compensate us in the way of advertising. Some partners we recommend pay us referral fees for sending them new customers. If you click through an application link on our site and end up receiving the service, we may receive compensation when your application is approved, and you move forward with this product. Each partner is vetted based on the following criteria:

  1. We prioritize lower interest rate providers.
  2. We prioritize those who do not penalize checking your rate or have prepayment penalties.
  3. We prioritize those that are customer experience focused. We measure this by the reviews on more unbiased review sites.

Litigation Practice Group Cancellation: How Do You Cancel?

8/16/2023 Update: Many people have been SUED for the unpaid debt, which is why they are looking into how to get a refund from Litigation Practice Group and cancel their LPG account.

We built the following debt relief calculator to help you understand how to resolve your debt if you've been sued and if your debt has actually not been addressed since starting the LPG program.

6/6/2023 Update: We corresponded with an individual who stated that they received the following text message: "Hello, I am an ex-LPG employee. I saw your number in the comment section of an article about LPG. LPG sold your account to Phoenix Law. Phoenix Law is actually the same as LPG, with the same head attorney and owner. The attorney is barred from practicing. Phoenix Law is a Trojan horse company stealing people's hard-earned money. I found out all this after I was fired from LPG and they filed for bankruptcy. LPG, Phoenix Law, and Oakstone Law are all going through an investigation as we speak. Call Phoenix Law 424-622-4044 and demand to speak to Ty Carrs and demand your money back. These are not good people. Their office is being investigated by the BK trustee. It's on the news. They scam the elderly as a form of debt resolution. It's all BS. Send me a confirmation that you got this, but please don't expect a reply. My job is to spread the news because y'all deserve to know. God bless and good luck."

By now, you may have read about the Litigation Practice Group lawsuit or that Litigation Practice Group filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and are wondering the steps in order to move forward with a Litigation Practice Group cancellation.

Unfortunately, it's gotten a bit more complicated as Litigation Practice Group may have sent your account to another firm, such as Gallant Law, Phoenix Law, or Oakstone Law. So, apparently, you wouldn't cancel with Litigation Practice Group, but you'd have to cancel with whoever they sent.

Plus, if you do not cancel. You may still get a payment pulled from the new firm automatically. For example, per this BBB complaint below, the individual just got a transfer email, and then their funds were automatically pulled instead of having to sign up with a new law firm.

For example, did you get a welcome email from any of these firms?

It May Be Difficult To Cancel

Here are the phone numbers for three potential firms that Litigation Practice Group may have transferred your account to:

Oakstone Law Phone Number: 858-330-3009 and Email Address: support@oakstonepc.com
Phoenix Law Phone Number: (424) 622-4044 and Email Address: service@phoenixlaw.co
Gallant Law Phone Number: (215) 804-333 and Email Address: service@gallantlawpc.com

Based on this user's experience, the individual alleges that he/she attempted to email 3 times to discuss cancellation. The individual did this on 3/16/2023, and didn't get a response on 3/24/2023 about the cancellation.

So, here's what to know:

1) If you call, you may reach a representative who will try to transfer you to the cancellation department.
2) The individual may state that the cancelation department is not available and then put your name on a "list".
3) It's unclear when you will hear back about the cancellation.

Contacting Your Bank

If you have not been able to cancel and are concerned that the new entity may pull a payment, you may look to contact your bank about how to stop a transfer from an entity.

There may be two options:

1. You may be able to put a hard hold on the account that would block any transaction from being pulled.
2. Your bank may have its own process to stop a payment from being pulled.
2. If neither of these options work, you could speak with your banker about canceling your account and whether this would work.
